Brevard County Clerk of Court

The Brevard County Clerk of Court runs six branch offices for marriage services. The main office sits in Titusville on the second floor at 400 South Street. Other locations are in Viera at the Moore Justice Center, Melbourne, Palm Bay, Rockledge, and Cocoa. All offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Both parties must apply together in person at any of these locations. Each person needs a state-issued photo ID, military ID, or passport along with their Social Security number.

If either applicant was married before, they need the exact date of divorce, death, or annulment. Without parental consent, both parties must be at least 18. A 17-year-old can marry with written parental consent, but only if the other party is no more than two years older. These rules come from Florida Statutes Chapter 741, Section 741.04.

Brevard County Marriage License Kiosk

The Brevard County Clerk offers an online pre-application tool they call the Marriage License Kiosk. You fill in each field on the template and click submit. A congratulatory message shows up with your application number. After that, you can visit any of the six branch offices to finish the process in person. The kiosk does not replace the in-person visit. Both parties still need to appear at the clerk office. But it saves time because your data is already in the system when you arrive.

Brevard County License Fees

A marriage license in Brevard County costs $86 without a premarital course. With proof of course completion, the fee drops to $61 and the three-day waiting period goes away. Florida Statute 741.0305 sets this discount. The course needs to be taken within one year of applying. Ceremonies at the clerk office are $30 extra. Certified copies of a recorded marriage license cost $2.50 each in Brevard County, which is among the lowest rates in the state.

The clerk accepts cash, money orders, and credit cards. Credit card payments may include a service charge. Part of every license fee goes toward a $2 application charge and $25 for the Domestic Violence Trust Fund under Section 741.01. After the ceremony, the completed license must go back to the Brevard County Clerk within 10 days. The clerk records it and provides one free certified copy to the couple. The data then goes to the state Bureau of Vital Statistics, which takes about 60 days.
