Kendall residents have options beyond the main downtown location. Miami-Dade County runs six district court locations. The South Dade Justice Center, closer to Kendall, may be more convenient than driving downtown. Check the clerk website for exact addresses and hours of each location.

Both people must appear at the clerk office at the same time. Bring valid photo ID. The clerk accepts driver licenses from any state, passports, military IDs, state ID cards, alien registration cards, and naturalization certificates. U.S. citizens provide a Social Security number too. If either person has been married before, the end date of the previous marriage is required.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins work. Appointments are also available on the clerk website and can speed things up.

Kendall Marriage License Costs

The standard fee for a marriage license is $86. A premarital preparation course knocks it down to $61. Per Florida Statute 741.0305, the course must be from an approved provider and done within 12 months of applying. Taking it also waives the three-day waiting period.

Ceremonies performed by the clerk cost $30. They take cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Personal checks are not accepted. A duplicate license is $30, and amendments cost $30 plus a court order.

Certified copies are $9 for the first and $7 per additional copy. When the clerk searches across years because you cannot pin down the exact date, it costs $2 per year searched.
