Six district court locations serve Miami-Dade County. Tamiami residents can use any of them. Check the clerk website for the one closest to you. The main downtown office is one option, but a south or west location might be more convenient.
Both people need to appear at the clerk in person together. Valid photo ID is required. The clerk accepts driver licenses, passports, military IDs, state IDs, alien registration cards, and naturalization certificates. U.S. citizens provide a Social Security number. If you were married before, bring the date your last marriage ended.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins and appointments both work. An appointment helps you get in and out faster.
Marriage License Fees Near Tamiami
The fee is $86. A premarital preparation course brings it to $61. Under Florida Statute 741.0305, the course needs to be from an approved provider and finished within one year. It also waives the three-day waiting period for Florida residents.
Clerk ceremonies are $30. Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express are accepted. Personal checks are not. Duplicate licenses run $30. Amendments need a court order and $30.
Certified copies of marriage records cost $9 for the first copy, $7 each after that. A search across years costs $2 per year if you do not know the date.

The Miami-Dade Online Marriage License Bureau offers free record searches. The database has records from 1971 to the present. Search by name or license number. Results include both spouse names and the marriage date. Available 24 hours a day.
Records before 1971 are not in the online system. Call (786) 469-2400 for older records. Anything before June 6, 1927 is only at the county level since the state did not start collecting marriage data until then.
The Florida Department of Health has state records from 1927 forward. A certified copy from the state is $5 for the first and $4 for extras. VitalChek charges $15 plus $7 processing. The county clerk is usually quicker and costs less for Tamiami marriages.

The officiant has 10 days to sign and return the license to the clerk. Recording and sending data to the Bureau of Vital Statistics takes about 60 days.

Certified copies are available three ways. Use the clerk's online portal for the fastest service. Pay with a credit card and copies come in the mail.
